How to inspire someone

How to inspire someone?
sounds like a strange question!
we Should inspire people by telling them something inspiring , right!

Well this is not what's meant by the question because sometimes you tell inspiring things to people yet they don't get inspired while in other times you say normal phrases that inspires them.

What is the secret behind inspiring people?
And why certain words can inspire a person but never affect another one?

The secret behind inspiring someone

"A man who once did the impossible can certainly do it again"

That's my slogan in life these days. The first time i came up with such a statement i found it very inspiring.

But why did this statement inspire me so much while it never worked for some other people? When one of my friends saw it he got inspired by it but when another one saw it nothing happened.

Here is the secret why some statements inspire some people and not others:

1) It must match their beliefs: The statement inspired me because it matched my belief system perfectly. I believe i did the impossible before, don't get me wrong i am not trying to show off but according to my own belief system becoming a self made millionaire at a young age was considered impossible and when i did it i believed that i did the impossible. (see The ultimate guide to becoming rich) Because i had these certain beliefs that matched the statement perfectly i found the statement very inspiring
2) It must give hope: "A man who once did the impossible might have been lucky" Do you know why such a statement can never inspire anyone? Because the second most important element in an inspiring statement is its ability to give hope to the listener. While this statement might match your current beliefs still it will never inspire you because it lacks the hope element

This is how to inspire people

Depression is the lack of hope. When people are down we can't say that they are depressed but we can confidently say that they lost a great deal of hope.

Now what those people need the most in order to be inspired is some hope but because their conscious filters will always discard things that contradicts with their belief system a statement that gives them hope will be discarded if it didn't match their belief system.

In short, if a person didn't believe that he has done the impossible before then my inspiring statement will make no sense to him. (see also How to do the impossible in life)

Now what do you think of this quote: "If its possible then you can do it and if its impossible then why not be the first one to do it so that someone else comes after you and says that its possible?"

This statement will inspire you if you didn't have opposing beliefs such as "i am a total failure" , "i can barely succeed"....etc

If you had above average self esteem then you will find this statement very inspiring.

So to summarize the whole article in one line the secret to inspiring people is giving them hope using words that match their belief system.

I have managed to become a self made millionaire at the age of 28. This didn't happen by chance because i already wrote that goal down five years before i accomplished it. Becoming rich is not about luck, starting big or being intelligent but its all about having certain beliefs about money and life.
