How success happens

I am sure you have been told many times before that success is all about the number of tries and that persistent people get what they want. I know how you sometimes feel regarding this concept, you feel that you need a more realistic example that can show you that you can make it as well and that's why i decided to tell you about a real story in this post.

In order not to be repeating myself again ill start the story from its end. If you have read some of the articles on 2knowmyself before then most probably you already know that i became a dot com millionaire in 2010 because of that site.

But the important question is, how many failed projects did i go through?
How many times did i start a site or another business then it failed?

This happened many times and because i want to give you hope and show you that sometimes you need to fail before you can succeed i decided to tell you about these failures in this post.

A true story about success and failure

I always believed that the internet was a great source of income but i wasn't sure how i can succeed online. Whenever i thought of a brilliant idea i started implementing it right away but most of my ideas failed.

The first site respectmyright.com failed because it had a really poor design, the programming was awful and spammers almost took over the site.

When i started on theway2invest.com i was so enthusiastic about it that i knew it will succeed but after i wrote around 200 articles i was shocked to discover that i am not allowed to sell any products related to the stock market through any of the major third party vendors that allow Egypt on the sellers list.

2reachsuccess.com was a personal blog which aimed to replicate the success of famous bloggers but it failed completely because i wasn't able to drive traffic to it.

Fanstap.com was a site that helps people promote their social media pages but after months of trying we never had a single customers so we decided to quit.

Empowerment.com was a site that provides educational courses but because i had many personal problems at this time (one of them was losing my money in the stock market) i had to turn down the project. skinny2muscular.com was a site that helps skinny people develop muscles but it failed because the competition was so fierce that no one visited the site.

2earn-online.com was a good site but the very competitive niche it was operating in prevented it from booming like the other big ones. It succeeded partially and created few sales.

2knowmyself.com was created and BAM! You know the rest of the story.

Lessons to learn from this success story

1) The more you try the luckier you get: The more you try and the more you learn the luckier you will get. Contrary to common beliefs luck can be created. You just need to know how to create it (See also does luck has anything to do with success)
2) If you don't give up you will make it: If you kept trying you will make it. Maybe on the second, third or even fifth attempt but in all cases you will make it (see also Is it too late to succeed in life?)
3) Failure is OK: Its completely OK to fail in fact its a must in most cases. Keep this fact in your mind and failures won't bother you anymore.

I have managed to become a self made millionaire at the age of 28. This didn't happen by chance because i already wrote that goal down five years before i accomplished it. Becoming rich is not about luck, starting big or being intelligent but its all about having certain beliefs about money and life.
